Guy Lestician
Edison-Tesla Combined?  

It has been said the Guy Lestician, inventor extraordinaire, is both Tesla and Edison combined.  His name wasn’t familiar to me but in the summer of 2007 I was lucky enough to meet him.

With his supportive family, Guy has hidden himself away in Pennsylvanian where he has worked mercilessly to invent the un-inventible and to explode previously set-in-stone theories.  His aim is not to make money. His aim is to make life easier and more exciting for all of us.

Amongst his many inventions to date include:

• First supermarket laser scanner
• First cash register to printout bill for hospitality
• First digital clock
• Hot Wheels remote control system
• First long-life light bulb
• ‘Talking ‘chips (remember the talking “Get away from the vehicle” car aerial?)
• Automated sprinkler system for grass – A probe linked to a solar panel would turns water on and once the grass is saturated, a probe sends a message to turn it off
• Solar refrigerator for a Toga village in Africa
• The list just goes on and on

And now, he is offering the world a new invention - the EBU – the Energy Bank Unit.  This Unit is an efficient, eco-friendly unit which saves energy as well as the user’s money. This is an invention which could save our Planet’s fragile resources and could allow us to continue with our energy-hungry homes and offices.

When Guy introduced me to some of his inventions, the volume and lack of public acclaim surprised me. But for Guy, the inventing is the important thing. Fame and riches are not.  Inventing is what wakes him up in the middle of the night when the Eureka moment nudges something deep in his sleeping conscious. 

Even helping his children with homework can trigger something, including a revolutionary new body scanner which could eradicate cancerous growths in the human body without damaging the healthy tissues.

But like all inventors, time is of the essence and the wheels of bureaucracy run slowly.  The cancer scanner has to be put on the back-burner for a short while until the EBU is making money and can free Guy’s time.
