In life, sometimes you're lucky and meet very special people who you shadow throughout your lives. You touch them and they touch you. You drift in and out and always pull back together. Davina, Annie Ward and myself have been luckier than most and have shared something special.

And then in 2007, I lost my very bestest friend: Davina Pink, nee Phillips

We:

Started school together aged 5.
Played together as kids.

Davina Pink and Sheila Chinn
Went to Youth Club together.
Were know-it-all teenagers together.

Had our pictures taken at 50 and put on a calendar with our friend, Annie Ward, who has been a tower of strength to me since Dee's passing.

Were nannies together and our grandchildren played - Below: Davina at my house with my granddaughter, Georgia, and Davina's granddaughter, Lucy - 2005.

Then Davina contracted cancer. She was brave and still managed to smile - l to r: Davina, Crystal McCarthy, me, Annie

And then we lost her. The best friend I could have ever have had.

She shared my secrets but never judged me or told me what I should or shouldn't do. She trusted my judgement and if I got it wrong, she never said "I told you so." She never gossiped or talked to others about me. She was my best friend.

And how lucky I am to have known such a perfect partner in crime..
